So, some of you know that I”ve been waiting, waiting, waiting to go on this vacation. I’ve been saving and worrying and saving and paying deposits and all sorts of baby steps since way back in January.

Thursday is the big day. I can hardly stand it. You’d think I was 7 years old and going to Disney World.  But I’m not. I’m 47 and I’m going to Italy.

Florence to be precise. Me and 25 of my soon-to-be best friends on a Rick Steves’ Tour. (No, Rick is not going to be the guide.) I’m arriving a day and half before the tour starts and I’m staying a day and a half after the tour ends. At the beginning, I’ll go right to Florence and stay. At the end I’m staying in Rome.

I’ve asked several of my blogosphere buddies to write guest posts that will keep you entertained during my absence because I’m not taking my computer. I’m taking a cell phone but only for emergencies.

DS1 will watch the house and Libby the Wonder Poodle. DS2 will stay with his dad.

Two days and counting. Can I get it all done? In the meantime, enjoy this version of an old classic. I could have gone with Dean Martin or Rosemary Clooney or even Bette Midler, but I chose this one of Gerard Dramon and the French version of the Muppets. Because I like it. Enjoy.
