The Diva’s take on the Big Easy
While I’m on vacation, I’ve asked several blogosphere friends to share stories of favorite vacation spots. And they said “Yes!” What’s up with that???? Amazing and wonderful and much more, is what I think.
Today, the day I touch down in Italy, Diva T is going to share her love for a great American icon: New Orleans. Thank you DivaT!!!!!!

When my girl here at This Journey asked me to do a guest post I was thrilled to oblige. Since she is on vacation it is only appropriate that I let you in on one of my favorite vacation spots.
I love, I mean I absolutely love going to New Orleans; especially during Memorial Day weekend. It’s the perfect weather and the perfect crowd. Shhhh…don’t tell anyone else about it because then they would all want to flock to New Orleans that same weekend and I am trying to maintain crowd control and keep out the riff raff.
The French Quarter has so much to see. You simply can not pass up Café Du Monde. Simply heavenly. Then there are the various restaurants with all the scrumptious Cajun food your heart could ever desire. I have had the best bread budding in my entire life right there in good ol’ New Orleans.
After you’ve toured the many historical sights and eaten all that delectable food then you have the night life. Oh my!
You walk up and down the infamous Bourbon Street and there is pub after pub with nothing but drunken revelers. Good times!!!! Get this; they are all free to walk in! You can just go from one pub to another all night long and drink until your hearts content (drinks are not free) and listen to the best music around and dance until you are dizzy. Everyone is just partying and having the best time ever. It’s amazing. You can not leave with out visiting Pat O’Brien’s. It’s against some local county law or something.
Let’s also not forget that it’s not only during Mardi Gras that beads are thrown my friends. Oh no. You could just be walking down the street when all of a sudden you will hear a crowd shouting “Take it off! Take it off!” Then some ridiculously drunk girl will lift her blouse to expose what only her man and her doctor should see to the world all in the hopes of obtaining those much coveted plastic beads.
New Orleans is not for the faint of heart so go at your risk. I’m just preparing you.

Love it! New Orleans is one of my favorite cities in the U.S. (Just don’t ask me about those beads.)

I’ve never been there, but I dated a guy from there and he has so much love for that city. One of these days….Sigh.

I’m dying to go to New Orleans and imagine it for a trip with my guy, who’s a piano player. To go and hear some amazing music down there is a dream for me!
