Power Tools are a girl’s best friend – UPDATED

We’re playing with power tools today at Chez Journey. And I’m not just talking Vacuum Cleaners.

Pictures later.

In the meantime, enjoy an oldie. (I wish I could have found Ann Reed’s “Power Tools” but she’s not on the YouTube. *sigh*) (it’s a different song than this one.) (although this one has it’s, uh, charms.)

UPDATE:

According to some sources, an general home repair requires four trips to the hardware store. I am average. And also, the Home Depot guys are now avoiding me.

towelbar3towelbar4towelbar6towelbar8towelbar9towelbar10towelbar11towelbar12The old towel bar broke off one day. The screws that held the thing to the door were stripped or rusted in place. So today, I drilled out the screws and installed not one, but two towel bars.

Why two towel bars, you ask. Well, I wanted the double towel bar (shown first) but once installed it didn’t allow the door of either the bathroom or the shower to open fully.

So, the final trip back to HD was for a mini set screw screwdriver (DS2 put it on with a flat tipped nail, or something because he couldn’t find the other mini screwdriver) and a new towel bar.

The deluxe double towel bar will have to go in the upstairs bath. It’s all good though because that one was brushed nickel and not shiny like the other fixtures in the downstairs bath… so when I went back for the single I got one that matched.

For the record, when you already have all the tools you need and kind of know what you’re doing, removing and replacing takes about 30 minutes.

Otherwise, maybe about six hours. Just saying.

Also, if I don’t mention DS1 after this, do me a favor and don’t ask any questions.

Funny :-) I confess to being a little intimidated by power tools.

Way to go! Now that you know how, would you come over and fix my towel rack too? What is it with the towel racks?

I don’t really use power tools but cracking open my little red tool box to fix things around the house couldn’t be more satisfying!
