everybody’s trying to get going

Seriously.

My phone and email have been buzzing with people trying to set up meetings with me. It’s like the flood gates have opened and everyone’s primary resolution is to have more meetings. With me.

Some of these are work meetings.

Some are community organizer type meetings.

Some are friends that want to connect for coffee and a look at the Italy pictures. (don’t you look at me like that. I know I haven’t posted them all. I’ll get to it!)

Very few are from that on-line gravel pile called match dot com. A couple.

So it’s all very busy. And the thing I’m very happiest about above all of that is that I decided NOT to spend money on a new calendar planner, or to add $30 to my cell bill so I could sync up my electronic calendar with my phone (maybe it would work….or maybe not since half my life is on the corporate calendar and the other on a google calendar and I have a mac at home and OY!).

No, the happiest thing so far is that I’ve gone old school. For no co$t to me.

I used Outlook and printed little booklets at work - 1 per month with a timed planner agenda and room for a task list that I prioritize along my Franklin-Covey training.

It’s tactile. It’s portable. If I write in pencil it’s flexible. I’m using a big binder clip (also borrowed from my desk drawer at work) to hold Jan and Feb together and making notes for future on the blank page at the back.

Like last year, when I realized that I could use my “people pleaser tendency” to my advantage by working with a personal trainer, I’m giving in to my nature with this paper and pencil method. And I’m loving it.

I live for my checkbook-sized calendar. And it was free! From the bank!

You just reminded me that I have not synced by phone with my Outlook at home in months! I better do that tonight.
