The weirdness continues
As I was shutting off my computer to head out to my ISAIAH meeting, the phone rang. It was the receptionist at Ugly Corporation saying he had “JJ on the line” for me.
Uh. Ok.
JJ=my boss. The crazy manipulation non-trustworthy lady that my group started reporting to a few months ago; after having a couple of months of hanging in limbo. (not my friend LN that I took the job with two years ago.)
ANYWAY.
Today, JJ tells me that she’d had a conference call with the Ops team but forgot to include Learning and Development. (Ok. So far, no surprises.) “There will be an announcement tomorrow and I wanted you to know about it before hand. I have decided to resign. It won’t be an immediate departure; there’ll be a 90 day transition time. Would you please let ST and BA know?”
Uh sure. Do you want me to let KC and SB know too?
“That would be great. It’s been a hard decision. I have to go.”
By this time, she’s choked up and sounds like she’s crying.
I tell ST and BA. they’re shocked. Call SB and have to leave a message. Talk to KC. Finally connect with SB later in the afternoon.
Everyone’s shocked. No one knows what this means, who we will report to next or whether we’ll even still exist by the end of the 90 days. It is interesting to note that it was announced last spring that the CFO would be done at the end of first quarter as well. Several others are “done” at the end of first quarter.
I’m very glad that ZH&AH are coming over tonight to help me talk through my mobility papers. The relief I felt about my “security” was short-lived. It’s time to move on to the next thing. Seriously.

That could be good or bad. At least she’s leaving, but that could be bad too?
