Sales pressure

I should have just said “no thanks” on Saturday when the sales guy told me about the promotion. But I was nice.

Or I should have said “no thanks” when the scheduling guy said they didn’t have an appointment on Monday evening. But I was nice and made an exception for Thursday.

So tonight a very nice salesman, “George” sat and told me all about Home Depot’s ability to reface my kitchen cabinets. It was a very good price, but I won’t sign a contract like that in the moment. I almost did though. Really the price was good. And there was a $300 discount for signing tonight. And 0% financing until 2011.

But really? I don’t have any business getting involved in something like this at this time.

I should have just said no and not had the guy even come out.

I’m glad G was here to talk through it with me while George took his stuff out to the car.

I hate to have wasted two of his hours. but I also hate that I lost a whole evening (in December!!! with all the stuff I have to get done!! Or all the hanging out with G that needs to be done!!!!) for something I knew I wasn’t going to do.

I have to remember to just say “no” to those sales guys roaming the aisles of Home Depot.

So sorry you wasted your night, but it still is kind of fun to dream about what might be…. You need to learn to not make eye contact :) It is easier then learning how to say “no”

Drag. I’m sanding and painting all of my cupboards in the next month. I also found someone to install new counters for me that won’t cost twice as much as the actual counters. Sweet.
