This Journey

Thoughts, rants, prayers, sermons I'll never give and other stuff gathered as I make my way through this life.

17 years ago, Mother’s Day was on Sunday.

17 years ago, local TV programming included the movies “Mary Poppins”, and “Mr. Mom”

17 years ago, I didn’t sleep much at all the night before

17 years ago, I didn’t get to eat all day

17 years ago, all the hard work and inconveniences paid off BIG time.

DS1 made his debute and I became a mom.

And after everyone left, he and I started to get acquainted.

And so it continues to this day. I’m so glad he’s my boy.

Author: Not Fainthearted

A paradox wrapped in an enigma playing the accordion. I'm a sinner-saint, child of God working at the cross-roads of church and world. A Deaconess called to connect people living near the center with people on the edge and to help your life sing (literally and figuratively) while doing it. People don't always get the deaconess part. Could be the swearing, the corporate job, or the wine.

  5. Happy birthday to you both.

What a lovely post. I remember that day distinctly. It was the day that I realized, on day 5 of motherhood, that everything was different. What I did from that moment on mattered significantly to what would become of my child.

    All the best!
