This Journey

Thoughts, rants, prayers, sermons I'll never give and other stuff gathered as I make my way through this life.

Grateful #22

A list of some of the things that made me happy this week and which I therefore count as blessings.

  1. Barack Obama is our new president elect.
  2. John McCain’s acceptance speech. Mostly because it was so gracious and the old McCain was visible.
  3. A country that can actually have a peaceful transfer of power.
  4. DS1 asking me to make homemade soup for dinner.
  5. The smiles on so many people’s faces after the election.
  6. Such a huge turnout at the polls, both nationally and in Minnesota (almost 80% across the state!)
  7. Letting myself sleep in on Saturday.
  8. Having blog writer friends who accept the offer to write a guest post for my vacation! (Amazing! Thank you, thank you thank you!)
  9. Happy hour at the Glockenspiel Restuarant with the church staff.
  10. Going to the Guthrie Theater with the boys and The Girlfriend.

It is a shorter list than some weeks, but there’s a lot of happy and blessings jammed into each one of those things.

Author: Not Fainthearted

A paradox wrapped in an enigma playing the accordion. I'm a sinner-saint, child of God working at the cross-roads of church and world. A Deaconess called to connect people living near the center with people on the edge and to help your life sing (literally and figuratively) while doing it. People don't always get the deaconess part. Could be the swearing, the corporate job, or the wine.

  1. So much to be grateful for! Even Tony Orlando and the Dawn.

  2. I’m with Churlita. Counting your blessings is a great thing!

Enjoy your vacation! When/where are you doing?

  3. That’s a lot to be grateful for. I’m grateful for most of the same things. Woot!
