This Journey

Thoughts, rants, prayers, sermons I'll never give and other stuff gathered as I make my way through this life.

Grateful-End of an Era Edition

I’m late today. But it is still Sunday so here’s my list of things for which I’m grateful this week.

  1. That despite the fact that I haven’t been to the gym since I left for Italy, I haven’t gained back all the weight I lost, nor have I lost all the muscle tone (I don’t think)
  2. The boys helping me with the beginning of the decluttering…and we’ve made some progress!!
  3. Having 4 1-1 conversations around social justice issues
  4. Having the funds to entertain the idea of buying a DVD-recorder and yet NOT doing it (Yay for having the funds. Yay for not bringing home another piece of really unneeded electronics.)
  5. “having” to take two poinsettia plants home
  6. Taking the self-care step to NOT go to a new book-club meeting on Friday night (too tired)
  7. Staying home last night too, even though I could have gone to a Drunken Spelling Bee, or (with a last minute “invitation”) to Golf Pro’s studio open-house.
  8. Watching “Say Anything” with the boys on Friday night, and watching “Hairspray” (original edition) on my own.
  9. Taking Libby the Wonder Poodle to the vet and learning that she may not have an ear infection….just dirty ears.

Author: Not Fainthearted

A paradox wrapped in an enigma playing the accordion. I'm a sinner-saint, child of God working at the cross-roads of church and world. A Deaconess called to connect people living near the center with people on the edge and to help your life sing (literally and figuratively) while doing it. People don't always get the deaconess part. Could be the swearing, the corporate job, or the wine.

  1. Has someone been talking dirty to your poodle?

Good for you for having extra money and not spending it on something you may or may not need.

  2. That self assessment must feel great! And the original Hairspray is an absolute scream.

  3. So, how was Hairspray? I have never seen it. As for the DVD recorder, perhaps you can find a cheaper one online? Have a great week!
