This Journey

Thoughts, rants, prayers, sermons I'll never give and other stuff gathered as I make my way through this life.

I’m getting married tomorrow!

Where to start?

I’m feeling like things are well in control and there’s no real running around like a crazy thing trying to get too much done.

So that’s a good thing.

Feels weird, but it’s good.

My house is not perfectly clean. And I don’t really care.

I followed my lists and got as far as I could with them and all the important stuff that needed to be done got done. The rest will have to wait.

Wednesday, I went to choir and then went out for a beer afterwards. Last night, G and I went out for dinner with some of his grief group friends. Tonight, we took the kids to a very nice dinner at Jax Cafe - a very old school restaurant in NE Minneapolis. My boys left after dinner to go to various social opportunities. G’s DS1 (+girlfriend) and DS2 (+wife) went out for an after dinner drink at the Gasthof zur Gemutlichkeit… another institution but much newer (only started in the 80′s)

Anyway. My point is that I’m making sure we take the time to spend time with people rather than my (all too usual) tendency to get task oriented and be stressed about spending time hanging out.

So that has made this last week in the run up to the wedding quite pleasant really.

But now it’s almost midnight on Friday night and I should be in bed because I have to get up in the morning and head out to get my hair done. Of course, once the hair is “done” The Napping is a lot tougher.

Pop overĀ  and say Happy Birthday to my blog buddy Betty. It’s her b-day today and she’s going to a 2nd Chance Prom with Fabulous Guy tonight. Looking forward to hearing all about it!

A paradox wrapped in an enigma playing the accordion. I'm a sinner-saint, child of God working at the cross-roads of church and world. A Deaconess called to connect people living near the center with people on the edge and to help your life sing (literally and figuratively) while doing it. People don't always get the deaconess part. Could be the swearing, the corporate job, or the wine.
