I’m back from my Saturday errands plus picking out new glasses. I’m sitting for a bit while lunch cooks. I should be heading over to Elle’s for pumpkin donuts but I have to eat something else first. Or I’ll embarrass everyone by my behavior.
In the meantime I’ll share a couple of recent photos.
This was the view as I got out of my car Wednesday night. I skipped chapel choir that night. After the migraine that lasted three days I was exhausted and even though singing usually energizes me I thought the better decision would be to go home and go to bed. Which I did around 7:30. This was about an hour before that.
This group is called the Israelite Church of God in Jesus Christ. “They are a group who believes they are descendants of the lost tribe of Israel. They also believe that other Jews are not real Jews and white people are devils. Wiki has a decent article. They will preach you up one side and down the other. The “security” guys like to jog around our block.” says Melissa on my Facebook post of this photo.
I took this picture from the bus on the way home on Friday. I was a little worried that the security guards would jump on the bus and demand that I delete the photo. They didn’t and I wish I’d taken a landscape photo that might have caught the woman, dressed in the fringed white garb, sitting on the based of the Mary Tyler Moore statue.
And finally, we have some pics from the farmers’ market this morning.
The market is winding down and I was a little sad about that this morning.
The colors of the market this time of year are more muted that during the height of harvest. These mums are the exception to that rule and they really popped.
I actually made it to the market during the cooking demonstration today. Usually I’m there early early early to avoid the “stroller brigade” or I’m there closer to close.
It was a very pleasant morning weather wise. Mid 50′s feels so warm this time of year! And the rain was holding off (still hasn’t come as I write this.) With the empty stalls from growers that have already called it a season, the last broadcast of the Fresh Local Show on AM950 and the smaller crowds, I was a little overcome by sentimentality.
I bought DS2 a pumpkin too. He’ll be with his dad next weekend but he said he’d carve it for me anyway.

It bittersweet to see the market season coming to a close.
