This Journey

Thoughts, rants, prayers, sermons I'll never give and other stuff gathered as I make my way through this life.

2011: The Year of New Stuff

If 2010 was The Year of Big Changes at Chez Journey –

and it was with Engagement, Lay Off, Wedding, Unemployment and Another Corporate Job topping the list

–then 2011 is the year of New Stuff.

And I don’t necessarily mean consumer stuff.

I mean things like:

  • A new call
  • A consecration
  • A new house for G’s DS2 & DIL
  • New carpet and flooring and such for G’s townhouse (ok, that is new consumer stuff) (the house is going on the market ASAP – even before DS2 & DIL can move out, if possible)
  • A new front/side garden here at Chez Journey (pics in another post)
  • New knees for G (august 1)

and last but not least…

  • A new baby.

Oh, calm down! It’s not me. (Thank goodness! I’d need to be sedated for the next 18 years) It’s G’s DS1 and GF. Due sometime around December.

And yes, I realize that means I’ll be called Grandma (or some variant thereof) in 2011, and that’s another new thing.

Holy crap.

Author: Not Fainthearted

A paradox wrapped in an enigma playing the accordion. I'm a sinner-saint, child of God working at the cross-roads of church and world. A Deaconess called to connect people living near the center with people on the edge and to help your life sing (literally and figuratively) while doing it. People don't always get the deaconess part. Could be the swearing, the corporate job, or the wine.
