This Journey

Thoughts, rants, prayers, sermons I'll never give and other stuff gathered as I make my way through this life.

Christmahanukwanzaakah 2011

Neil Kramer is a community building genius. A few years ago he started hosting a virtual holiday concert and in order to be all inclusive he coined the the Christmahanukwanzakah – combining Christmas, Hanukkah and Kwanza – three of the holidays celebrated this time of year. I participated in the first three, then just couldn’t get it together last years. This is my “triumphal comeback” contribution. Take that concept very loosely, please. You’ll recognize this as the carol I was obsessed with earlier this week. Also, go ahead and click “stop” after the first verse is done. The addition of the vocals really doesn’t add that much for the listener, but did provide practice opportunities for me with Garage Band. Oh! And click over to Neil’s and listen to the rest of the concert and view the other pretty pictures!

A paradox wrapped in an enigma playing the accordion. I'm a sinner-saint, child of God working at the cross-roads of church and world. A Deaconess called to connect people living near the center with people on the edge and to help your life sing (literally and figuratively) while doing it. People don't always get the deaconess part. Could be the swearing, the corporate job, or the wine.
