This Journey

Thoughts, rants, prayers, sermons I'll never give and other stuff gathered as I make my way through this life.

Superhero

The NaBloPoMo prompts for yesterday and today revolve around being a Superhero. This is such an easy question for me…. for years I’ve known what kind of superpower I would have: The ability to be in two places at the same time – or, the ability to time travel as Hermione Granger did using a Time Turner.

Now that I’m not trying to be everything to everyone all at the same time, I have a little less urgency for this super power. But you have to admit that if you’re a woman who has to work somewhere for money and also is responsible for making a home that this being essentially giving yourself the chance to really get twice as much done – and doneĀ well – as the non Super types.

If I couldn’t actually be in two places at once, I’d rather have extreme speed (if given the choice between extreme strength or extreme speed). This would allow me to get as close to two places at once as possible. It would also allow me to get the chore work done super fast giving me more time to blog, knit and nap. And really, who wouldn’t want that?

A paradox wrapped in an enigma playing the accordion. I'm a sinner-saint, child of God working at the cross-roads of church and world. A Deaconess called to connect people living near the center with people on the edge and to help your life sing (literally and figuratively) while doing it. People don't always get the deaconess part. Could be the swearing, the corporate job, or the wine.

  1. Ooh! I think the ability to be in two places at the same time is my favorite response to this question, so far. What a fantastically useful power, and more importantly, what fantastic potential for mischief!

    • Thanks, Jerimi! I didn’t consider the mischief making opportunities, but I’m sure I would after I got into it a bit– and rested up from having to do so much for so long in regular linear time!!
