Returning appetites

For sleep
For dreams
For something really good to eat
For water
For something chocolate
For time to just be
For a bit of certainty for the future
For dependability
Maybe it’s better to be so tired one can’t remember one’s hungers?

May Day - Another personal beginning

The first day of the month is reflection day for me. I’ve gotten into this habit because I need to write up a report for my professional development group, recounting how I spent my time last month.
Part of the report is statistics; I spent so much time doing X, I had Y-number of 1-to-1 conversations, [...]

Integrity

I’m one of those people that tends to notice, and point out connections and “serendipity.” I’ve come to believe through various experiences that there is no such thing as coincidence. So when I see two well thought out posts in the same week about “integrity” I stop in my headlong pursuit of the next item [...]

Questions

Sometimes I wish I could ignore the questions people ask me. Questions like these that have come up in conversation in the last week or so:
I know you’ve got a couple more years before it happens, but what are you going to do when the boys are out of the house?
and
Can’t you cut back the [...]

Just because I’m not using it doesn’t mean I’m ready to throw it out!

Life certainly is a jumble of contradictions here these days!
In one breath, I’m bemoaning the consumerism of my birth family around the holidays and the fact that I really don’t want any more STUFF because I don’t want to be a pack rat. And don’t want to give any more STUFF and contribute to others’ [...]

Dominant Intelligence… wha???

Saw this blogthing quiz at Gemosophy… not a really surprising result in my case.
Probably the surprise is why I don’t just go with it and quit this corporate training crap. And yes, there’s a big story in there, but I’m not ready to share it just yet. Let’s just say that Friday’s post about Trust [...]

Neutral. I think.

I wonder if I’ve achieved some sort of spiritual achievement.
Or maybe I’m moving into a depression. (I wonder if there’s a difference?)
Mr. Hockey and I had a good discussion Sunday afternoon after the festival concert. One of the best of “those kinds” of conversations I’ve ever had.
I’m not euphoric. I’m not hopeless. I’m just rather [...]

up past midnight…again

The festival started today. I’m a little disappointed in the turn out. Hopefully tomorrow today will be better. I didn’t have a lot to do, but I got a fair bit further on the sock I’m knitting while baby-sitting the CD table.
I left around 3:30 and stopped by the butcher shop to order the turkey [...]

Answers for Abbagirl74

I asked for it, I guess. Here are her questions and my best attempts at answers. Or at least my best attempt today.
1. If you could hold any position in public office in this country, what would it be and why?
That is a tough one because I don’t know that I would like to have [...]
