Summer Solstice ‘08

Today was earily similar to Thursday. With the addition of facitiating for the first time Day 1 of new practitioner training with our new distance learning curriculum. Throw in about 8 hours of being on the phone trouble-shooting little issues.
There’s more stories but I’m exhausted as there wasn’t time for lunch or dinner. I have [...]

The One Where I Make a Theological Defense for My Crazy

First, a confession (because if this is a theological post, I must clear my conscious first, that’s why.): I’m writing this on Thursday at around mid-day and I’m back dating it to Wednesday. But it’s all about what happened on Wednesday, oK?
Second, a warning: This is long and probably boring.
“Today” was the first Wednesday [...]

Corporate Intrigue

Did I mention that a week ago, the VP of Marketing at my corporate job “left to pursue other interests?”
(For those of you who haven’t been around for a while, that is corporate-speak for “We had to let her go. There will be no going-away party.”)
Yesterday, it was announced that our CEO would be doing [...]

The blessing of flexibility in process

I had lunch with Sr. N today. When she asked how I was doing I was honest.
Me: I’m stressed. I’m not sure I’m going to be able to do this for two years, and I wonder at whether it’s worth it if I have to be in a hospital for exhaustion for six months at [...]

maturity: over-rated?

It was really good to be with my sisters again. KA and SW and I are sharing a room. Even though some of these women really prefer to have their own room, we feel the need to have that bonding time of drinking like fish in our room after the official end of the day.
Others [...]

Off the road again

Sr. K arrived at the house this morning a little before 7:00. The car was packed (or so I thought. Forgot a few things, but nothing uber critical.)
We were on the road by 7:15 (after a stop for coffee.)
Lunch in Des Moines. Waved to the east at Churlita as we turned west on I-80. Made [...]

Spring rain

We had a beautiful spring day here in the Twin Cities and a spring thunderstorm tonight, changing the face of the city; from grey and dirty and tired looking to green and fresh and full of hope.
And I was lucky enough to be out in it for a bit. I spent the morning at the [...]

spring

Yesterday the temperatures hit the 40’s around here. Today, they said maybe even the mid-40’s. The snow is beginning to melt. Little tufts of garden plants beginning to show.
I will be in a class (inside) from 8-5 again today. And then a mad dash to church for the Wednesday night “usual.”
I’m yearning to be out [...]
