maturity: over-rated?

It was really good to be with my sisters again. KA and SW and I are sharing a room. Even though some of these women really prefer to have their own room, we feel the need to have that bonding time of drinking like fish in our room after the official end of the day.
Others [...]

Off the road again

Sr. K arrived at the house this morning a little before 7:00. The car was packed (or so I thought. Forgot a few things, but nothing uber critical.)
We were on the road by 7:15 (after a stop for coffee.)
Lunch in Des Moines. Waved to the east at Churlita as we turned west on I-80. Made [...]

It’s official!

The annual meeting went well.
The internship was a non-issue. So I guess I start on Friday!
Now the adventure (and the madness, I suppose) really begins.

Investiture decision

Sr. N called last night. The full candidacy committee met last week and accepted the panel’s recommendation for my investiture. Their acceptance needs to be approved by the Board, but she said the board has never gone against the committee’s recommendation.
So, it appears I’m on to the next step in candidacy process.
I reached KO today [...]

This is my story and I’m sticking with it.

Sister N. asked me to send along a brief update. This is as brief as I could make it!!!
***********
I can’t believe it’s already July 15! The summer seems like it has flown by. DS1 and DS2 are finishing up baseball seasons. Tom’s team had a lot of fun but lost the first game in the [...]

More hope for the fall

I spoke with Sr. N today. Told her about the possible new job. She’s very excited. Asked her how if the community has $ to help me while I’m doing CPE. She said YES. I need to write a proposal…email is fine outlining how much I’d ask for and what it would be used for [...]

deaconess event

was good. weather was great. (go to SC in January)
people were great. (sisters, pastors, professors, candidates, room-mate. Unbelievable)
class was great (amazing history that energized me about what I am to be about)
formation was great (it was emotional. The hardest thing I heard was: “Some people think that sharing a sexual relationship is the most intimate [...]
